Any subsequent profits will go towards funding future events and a donation to charity (IW Mountbatten Hospice).

We will encourage other performances during the period. However, we will not act as agents. It will be the responsibility of the performers and venues to negotiate between themselves.

The Bateman Brothers (& their tribute to Louis Armstrong)

The Bateman Brothers Jazz Band was formed in response to a couple of factors, the main one being the frequency with which Ian and Alan find themselves playing together nowadays! Apart from the novelty of having two brothers playing on the same stage, they complement each other's styles very well.

If jazz is going to continue on the theatre circuit then a good band needs to ready to fill that gap in the coming years. In order to achieve that, this band needs to have a show to sell since the days of jazz musicians selling out theatres on their name alone is long past. That will always be the world of Acker, Kenny, Chris, Terry and Humph which Ian and Alan have been privileged to be a part of!

This band therefore re-creates those stunning concerts of the 1940's, 50's and 60's by the great Louis Armstrong and his All-Stars. This is not done half-heartedly! Alan plays like Louis right down to the riffs and Ian barks out solos in the style of Trummy Young, so hold on to your seats.

The band plays exactly the same arrangements as Louis', not just a play through and everybody doing endless solos. You'll get a non-stop show that will have you on the edge of your seats right from the start and a finale that will leave you craving for more. That's how it was with Louis and that is how it is with The Bateman Brothers Jazz band.
