Policy Statement
This event is being organised by a local committee of musicians and jazz fans.Our aim is to promote jazz on the Isle of Wight. Members of the committee will not receive any financial reward. Inspected accounts will be made available on request.
The committee will cover the cost of the main venues and headline acts. This will be funded by sponsorship, ticket sales and other fund-raising activities.
Any subsequent profits will go towards funding future events.
We will encourage other performances during the period. However, we will not act as agents. It will be the responsibility of the performers and venues to negotiate between themselves.

Cass Caswell Monster Trio
John Martin (piano and organ)Having gained a formidable piano technique at the Royal Academy of Music, plus arranging and organ skills, John was musical director of Scottish Television. He has performed The Warsaw Piano Concerto in the Colston Hall, has jammed with Oscar Peterson, and has accompanied many global jazz stars including the great Ella Fitzgerald.
Cass Caswell (double Bass)
Worked with countless television jazz greats including Art Farmer, Alan Elsdon, Jack Emblow, Nancy Wilson, Don Lusher, Alan Barnes and Kenny Baker, jammed with John Dankworth and has recorded with Acker Bilk, Danny Moss, Cuff Billett, Sammy Rimmington, Pete Allen etc. In addition to the Monster Trio, he runs the 6-piece Cass Caswell Allstars and his own professional 16-piece Big Band.
John Gibson (drums)
John played with the celebrated NDO and 13 years with the BBC Midland Light Radio and Pebble Mill TV alongside Peggy Lee, Vic Damone, Tom Jones, Jack Jones and a hosts of other stars. He played for TV's '655 Special' and for Geoff Love. He recorded with Syd Lawrence, plus a TV series with Karen Kay and shared the jazz stage with Jimmy Witherspoon, Roy Williams, Alan Barnes and many others.
All three had been members of television studio orchestras. Formed in 2000, the Trio's punchy, inspired jazz takes audiences by storm. Embodying the excitement of Oscar Peterson and Jimmy Smith, their scintillating piano and organ numbers swing like mad, with stunning bass and drum solos liberally thrown in. Each has recently appeared internationally including the USA, the Far East, Australia and Europe. The Trio toured and recorded with Danny Moss and Jeanie Lambe, backed Tommy Whittle and Barbara Jay, Lee Gibson, Alan Barnes, Liane Carroll, Robert Fowler and others, and tours extensively.
